Iphone 15 Pro rear glass replacement offers affordable and easier options compared to iPhone 14 Pro.
iPhone 15 Pro Rear Glass Replacement
Apple’s recent launch of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max introduces a significant shift in rear glass replacement pricing, as indicated on the company’s support page. This change stems from alterations in the manufacturing process of these high-end models, which have substantially reduced the cost of repairing the rear panel, now matching that of the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 series.
As per Apple’s support documentation, the rear glass panel replacement for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is priced at $169 and $199, respectively. This represents a substantial cost decrease compared to their predecessors, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which carried replacement costs of $499 and $549, respectively.
Apple has streamlined the design of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, making it easier to replace the rear panel. The new handsets feature a more accessible glass panel removal process compared to previous models. Customers with AppleCare+ coverage can benefit from even more affordable repairs, with rear glass panel replacement available for just $29.
It’s worth noting that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, announced in September 2022, also featured easily removable glass panels. This design feature has been carried over to the Pro models this year. Additionally, Apple has adopted titanium chassis construction for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, departing from the stainless steel used in their predecessors.
In 2022, Apple made strides in repairability by allowing authorized technicians to service the TrueDepth camera on iPhones dating back to the iPhone X without necessitating a full device replacement. This change addressed the complex components associated with the Face ID system, including a flood illuminator, dot projector, front camera, and infrared (IR) camera, previously requiring an entire device replacement for repairs.
