The 2023 World Baseball Classic is in the semifinals, and the United States is in the last four of the competition thanks to late-game exploits by Trea Turner. The Phillies shortstop scored a game-winning grand slam Saturday night to lift Team USA over Venezuela. Team USA meets Cuba in the semi-finals in Miami on Sunday night. Japan and Mexico meet in the other semifinals of the World Baseball Classic on Monday.
With the field in the knockout stages, it’s a single-elimination bracket-style tournament with the championship game scheduled for Tuesday, March 21 in Miami.
